  • American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) standards and recommended practices.

  • Value determinations made using a weighted average of industry accepted sources.

Damage Surveys:   

North Coast Marine Surveyors specializes in contracting with insurance companies to determine the nature, cause, and extent of damage to a vessel.

We are well versed in working with repair shops and boatyards to determine the cost of repairs.

All surveys performed by North Coast Marine Surveyors include a comprehensive report detailing the vessel's condition using photographs and a descriptive narrative.

Capt. Bill Reed, SAMS ® , A.M.S.

Captain Bill has owned, built, and repaired a variety of boats, both power and sail.  He continues to pursue his passion of racing sailboats and iceboats. He holds a 50 ton U.S. Coast Guard Captain's license and enjoys skippering crafts on waters around the world. 

Bill spent 30 years in large corporate equipment finance with Fortune 100 companies.  He then attended the Chapman School of Seamanship for Yacht and Small Craft Surveying. Bill is now an Accredited Marine Surveyor with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors.  Bill's vast experience in boatsmanship, combined with his expertise in equipment analysis and valuation, results in a unique skill set to apply to marine surveying.
